The Mashpee High School Chapter of TeenMaptivists in Mashpee, Mas
sachusetts hosted their second Mapathon after school on February 28th for 1 hour. Students mapped a location in Albany, Georgia while enjoying pizza, cookies, and fun music in Mrs. Reynolds’ classroom.
Officer positions were also confirmed with senior Piper Milde as President, Ayesha Shafi as Vice President, Paige Shvonski as Communications Specialist, Mariele Henley as Treasurer, and Luke Klopfer and Nick Sculos as the Training Coordinators.
The meeting was successful with many new members learning how to map and new contributions to the mapping area. Meetings will continue to be held in Mrs. Reynolds’ classroom after school biweekly. Any new members are welcome to join and current members are encouraged to share the club with their fellow classmates!
Join the mapping revolution!
Paige Shvonski is a currently a junior at Mashpee High School and is the Communications Specialist for Mashpee's Chapter of TeenMaptivists. She enjoys taking challenging classes in school and spends her free time with family and friends and playing tennis. She looks forward to continuing to update about the accomplishments of the Mashpee TeenMaptivists!
I think it's great that there are new members joining and interested in mapping! For our mapping group in an Ecology class, we have done SDG climate change #13 along with calculating the carbon sequestration on school grounds and mapped trees online.
